Water Pump Dubai
So much relies on ample clean water: cooking, drinking, and irrigation to name a few. However, when water is scarce, things can turn dangerous quickly. In UAE, potable water storage tanks provide this much-needed resource, but do you really need one?
While recent rainfall may have finally broken the horrendous drought that has plagued much of California, water is still a valuable commodity. Despite this, many people probably do not need a water storage tank. Here's how to tell if you really need one. Lack or Limited Access to Fresh Water Source In rural areas, access to fresh water may be limited. However, having a potable water storage tank on the property allows for continuous access to this vital resource so long as the tank is filled regularly. Water Pump Dubai Service installs water tanks with unique technology that alerts you to a low reservoir, preventing the risks of running out of the water. Water Shortages during Peak Usage Times Communities that experience water shortages during peak usage times, such as early evening, may benefit from additional or larger capacity water storage tanks. Areas that are expected to continue to grow should also consider installing a higher capacity storage tank to avoid water shortages as populations grow. To Comply with Local Fire Requirements In Calistoga potable water storage tanks are often required by the local fire regulations. This is to ensure there is enough on hand in the event of a fire or other emergency situation. Emergency Preparedness

We know that flooding causes damage to homes. Recent flooding have led to millions of dollars in damages and follow-up repairs. Many property owners are considering sump up installation. And in this post we’ll explain more about the benefits of sump pump installation in your home.
Prevent Significant Flooding Damage While sump pumps are designed to primarily deal with the small amounts of water within your plumbing system, they are of significant value in preventing large-scale plumbing disasters throughout your property. A sump pump simply transports water from spaces under and around your home into the sewer system for an instant response to potential flood issues. The cost of a sump pump installation is easy to justify when you think of the value of your home not having standing water or flooding issues. Reduce Mold Risks Another of the leading reasons so many in the Napa Valley are now considering sump pump installation is the threat of mold. Mold damage causes lasting damage to the property and can also have create or exacerbate health problems for those around your home. When water is allowed to build up in and around the property, mold growth can begin to occur in days. The mold spores are known to cause breathing issues and other health challenges, particularly in children and the elderly. It’s a good investment to install a sump pump in the home to remove all leftover moisture and mitigate the impact of mold. For more info contact water pump dubai or call us at +971 4 252 2966. If you’re in the market for a new water tank, there are several factors you need to consider before you make your purchase. First, you’ll need to know what size tank you need and where it will be installed. You’ll also need to determine whether the water will be drunk or used for other purposes. Your intended use will determine whether you need a potable or non-potable tank.
As one of the leading purveyors of potable water storage tanks in Dubai, the team at Water Pump Dubai, we’ve collected some facts to help you determine your needs and the difference between the two. What exactly is potable water? From the Latin word ‘potare’, potable means ‘to drink’. Water tanks classified as potable means they store water fit for people to consume. A non-potable tank, on the other hand, stores water that should never be drunk as it may pose a health risk. What is the major difference between potable and non-potable tanks? The main difference between the two types of water tanks comes from the materials they’re made from, especially the plastic used for lining the inside of the tank. Most plastics are safe for storing water, however, there are some that will contaminate it. For a tank to be classified as potable it will need to have an NSF rating indicating that it is safe to use with potable water. What is a non-potable water tank used for? Although you can’t consume the water stored in them, non-potable tanks still have many uses. Harvesting rainwater has become popular recently as more businesses are adopting sustainability and environmentally-friendly practices. This harvested water (also known as grey water) can be used for washing vehicles and clothes, as well as watering gardens and fields. For more info water pump dubai or call us +971 4 252 2966. Like all other machinery, a well pump ages and will ultimately need a replacement. Deciding whether to replace or repair your well pump hinges upon many different factors. The main factors affecting the longevity of your submersible well pump are: the water quality, the quality of pump selected, the competancy of the installation and the quality of the power provided to the well pump motor. Industry averages show that submersible well pumps last, on average, about 7 years. Here are the primary contributing factors to submersible pump longevity:
Water Quality: Pure clean water is essential for long pump life, but is not a reality for many people. Water wells with large amounts of sand can abraid internal pump components. Water with high mineral content can deposit on pump and piping and lead to plugged/occluded chambers, pipes and ports. It is imperative to choose a pump company in the Napa Valley like Oakville Pump Service that can help you select a pump that will last a long time in your application! Water Temperature: High water temperatures, such as those in parts of the Dubai can lead to decreased motor life unless those temperatures are taken into account when designing the pump system. Competency of Installation: Are the proper water proof splices done on the wires that are hundreds of feed underwater? Was the submersible well pump bench tested to ensure it meets all manufacturer specifications and was not subject to damage during shipping or handling? Was the proper type, pressure rating and size of pipe used to install the pump 800 feet below ground? Was a high quality, efficiency optimized pump installed that can withstand sand, corrosion and the rigors of daily demands? Was the manufacturer recommended flow sleeve installed to ensure proper motor cooling under all pumping conditions? Was the proper wire size selected so the motor is operating within National Electrical Code guidelines for voltage drop? Were high quality check valves installed at proper intervals in the pipe that delivers water to the surface? At Water Pump Repair Service we ensure that every installation has the best, bench-tested components installed optimally to ensure maximum pump life! Component Quality Quality does matter. That off brand pump at the big nationwide hardware store may be cheap and get you by for a few months…but you’d better be prepared to install it yourself. Quality pump companies won’t touch low quality equipment when they have to stand behind it operating day in and day out hundreds of feet in the ground. Oakville Pump Service uses only the best quality submersible well pumps from Franklin Pump Systems, Goulds, Berkely and Grundfos and supply our customers with an outstanding warranty that we can stand behind. Power Quality Manufactures repeatedly tell us that one of the main influences on submersible pump motor life is the quality of the electricity supplied to the motor. Low/high voltages, phase imbalances or phase loss can reduce the lifespan of a submersible pump motor or just destroy them in extreme cases. The power supply infrastructure has not kept up with the increased demands in Dubai. OPS works with our customers for solutions to power quality issues to ensure that the pump can have the best power quality and function as long as possible in critical applications! These solutions include installation of Solar Pump powered sites, Installation of VFD’s that can filter/clean poor power from the utility, installation of safety devices that turn well pump equipment off to protect it from poor quality power. This makes the well pump one of the important day-to-day tools that requires maintenance and care. They work tirelessly to supply water to the entire home, garden and farm. So, how do you know when your water well pump is beginning to fail? Listed below are a few signs that indicate it is time to call your local well pump installation company in Dubai.
High Electric Bills: If your energy bills have spiked suddenly without any warning, you may be dealing with an ailing water well pump. An old or malfunctioning pump will run continuously as, it struggles to maintain the water pressure. This causes a sudden jump in your energy bills. Thus, addressing the issue can help to save a lot of money by lowering your bills. Poor Water Pressure: Water pressure problems result from a number of factors such as low water levels, scaling on the insides of the pipes, leaking pipes in the well or worn pump components. These kinds of problems need immediate attention and can be resolved easily by an expert well pump installation company in Dubai. No Water: If you wake up in the morning and find that your faucets have gone dry then, it is a clear indication that you are dealing with a pump issue. Run a quick inspection of the circuit breaker. This can be done by turning off the pump and resetting the breaker before turning on the pump back. If the pump jumps back to life then, it’s probably in fine condition. On the flip side, if resetting the breaker causes it to blow, then it needs attention of your local water well professional. Rapidly fluctuating water pressure or the water stopping and starting a few seconds later. These issues indicate a problem with the pressure tank that can lead to damage to the well pump motor. It is important to have a service technician inspect/repair the pressure tank, pressure switch and pump. In order to ensure your sump functions optimally, it is important to have a sump pump installation. The best time to schedule a check-up is every spring to ensure your sump system is functioning as intended, so that your risk of a surprise puddle is eliminated. Listed below are few simple tasks to stay flood free all through the year. Test your sump pump frequently: It is simple and straightforward to test your pump. In order to do so, pour in enough water into your sump pit so as to raise the float that is designed to engage the pump. Upon pouring water, the pump must remove all of it from the pit, and thereafter shut itself off in just a few seconds. Clean your sump pit: It is important that you periodically clean up your sump pit to remove any sand, dirt, and gravel that may be lodged in the system. This will increase the efficiency of your sump system, and also prolong its life. You may use a wet or drywall to do so. Back up: If you experience frequent power outages in your neighborhood, it is a good idea to invest in a good backup pump system. Any reliable sump pump installation Napa provider can tell you which kind is best suited for your home, and also explain the various backup options available to you. Install an alarm: If you have the budget, invest in a tank level alarm for your pump system. This will sound an audible alarm when your sump system ceases to work. Some of these alarms have battery backup and Wi-Fi options that will notify you via email when your pump begins to malfunction. Be proactive: As a homeowner, it is important to educate yourself on how your sump system works, and whom you should call when things do not work as they should. Understanding the signs of a malfunctioning sump will help you avert an emergency situation. For more info water pump dubai or call us +971 4 252 2966. For pump service and repair contact us today or call us at +971 4 252 2966 The evidence of sump pump season starts with the weather report and is confirmed when the aisles of your local hardware store are filled with boxes of pumps for people to put in their basement when they realize that they have a flooding problem.
At Water Pump Repair Service we want to help you avoid the flooding problems and help you if you’ve got them. Here are a few pointers to help you keep your basement dry. 1) Test your sump pump: This is commonly done by putting a garden hose into the sump pump pit, gently turning the garden hose on and then checking to see if the sump pump turns on. 2) Look in the sump pump pit with a light to see, if there is any debris that needs to be cleaned out. If you need to clean the sump pump pit, make sure to turn off the power first and when you are finished, test the the sump pump for operation. 3) If you sump pump has a back up power option such as a generator or battery that can supply power when the electricity is off, ensure that this back up power supply is working properly and has been recently maintained. 4) Check the discharge piping to make sure that it is free and clear, water flows from it when testing your sump pump and that there are no leaks or breaks in the discharge pipeline. 5) When the sump pumps runs there should be a simple humming sound coming from the pump. There should be no banging, vibration or chugging noises. 6)If there is a small hole in the discharge pipe a few inches above the sump pump, this is OK. It is there by design to ensure the sump pump doesn’t airlock and can self prime. 7) If you have a float switch that triggers an alarm for high water levels in the sump pit, make certain to test the alarm by raising this float switch! An alarm can’t do its job unless it’s working. For more info water pump dubai or call us +971 4 252 2966. Did you know that current data indicates that, by some estimates, more than 20% of all energy consumption in the United States is utilized in pumping water?
Costs for electricity keep rising with increasing demand and increasing power generation costs. As the costs for electricity supplied from utilities spiral every upward; residential, agricultural, commercial and homeowner sectors are looking for ways to minimize the costs associated with pumping water. If the water that you use comes from a municipal water supply it may not impact your electricity bill at all, however, your water bill will be impacted by increase water usage. Municipalities build the cost of the electricity it takes to pump, treat and monitor the water they provide into their consumer rates. The more water they must provide, the higher costs, the higher your rates. If the water you use comes from a well and pump then your electric bill is dramatically impacted by how much water you utilize! Look on your pump controller and find out how many horsepower (HP) your pump is. At current electrical rate schedules each horsepower costs between $0.10 and $.20 per hour to run. This means if you have a 5 horsepower pump and it needs to run 5 hours a day to meet your irrigation and household needs you could be spending up to $5 per day or about $150 a month to power your well pump! You might be asking yourself, “Is there anything I can do do decrease how much electricity my well pump equipment uses?” The good news is that there are several things that you can do to save electricity! 1) Check for leaks. Leaks mean that water is being pumped and the pump is using electricity to supply those leaks. Wet spots are a good indicator of a leak, as are toilets that run constantly. Visit your pump equipment and make sure you do it at a time when there is no water being used for showering, irrigation, washing dishes or ice-makers. The well pump equipment should be off and STAY off. Plan to hang out at the well equipment site with a good book for 20-30 minutes and keep an ear on the equipment. If it is turning on and running, it is trying to supply water and your next job is to find out where the water is going. 2) Check your irrigation system by running the stations manually and ensuring that each valve works properly and shuts off completely Often irrigation valves have debris in them and need to be cleaned in order to work properly. 3) Landscaping and gardens use the lions share of water and, in our experience, are responsible for the most wasted water. Because irrigation often happens at night, leaks are often culprits because they aren’t noticed. Overwatering your garden and lawn are just as problematic as leaks and waste both water and electricity. Water should not be spraying on roads or sidewalks. The nozzles, sprays and drips should be checked to ensure proper operation and size for your application. A smart irrigation controller can help ensure proper watering on hot and cool days and minimize water and electricity waste by looking at local weather and making adjustments as necessary. If you utilize a landscaping contractor they should be able to answer some important questions such as: How much water do I use on a daily basis? How much water does each station use each day? How much water do my plants actually need? They may need to check some documentation to get you the correct answers, but if they shrug their shoulders and say “I don’t know.” It is very likely they just turn stations on by the seat of their pants, overwater and hope to keep everything green and you happy. You shouldn’t be happy, you should be looking for another landscaping contractor that knows their craft and practices it with competence and confidence. 4) Wasting electricity during water pumping often happens when pumping equipment is old, damaged or simply the wrong device installed for a job. “Well, a pump is just a pump isn’t it?” Actually, there are many different kinds of pumps and sizes of pumps. If the wrong type or size of pump is installed it may very well pump plenty of water with plenty of pressure, but it may use an enormous amount of electricity to pump that water! In lay terms it means you have a very inefficient pump system. If the correct pump is installed it could use as much as 50% less electricity than an incorrectly sized/selected pump for your application. Even if the correct pump is installed for your application and it runs several hours a day for 10 or 15 years, it is more than likely that the pump and pump system components experience significant wear or corrosion and the pump equipment is no longer pumping efficiently. In some instances homeowners have called us to check their pumping equipment because their electricity bill doubled or tripled from the previous month. This is often due to a leak, often in the pipe in the well or a failed check valve. Some utility providers will allow you to set up alerts in the event that large quantities of electricity are being used and we recommend that our customers with well/pump systems take advantage of this opportunity if it is available. 5) If the well pump you use fills a storage tank, and the storage tank is suitably sized to be able to supply your demand for water, you might be able to benefit from “time of use” electricity metering. Many utilities charge different rates for electricity depending on the time of day electricity is used. By filling your storage tank only during the “off peak” or “cheap” time of the day you can save significantly on utility charges. Alternately, you might be able to change your watering schedule for your landscape or garden to take advantage of the off peak electricity rates. Water pump repair service can help you if you have questions about implementing this type of solution. 6) Pump your water as few times as possible. Many water systems include many pumps that pump the same water multiple times. Take, for example, a system OPS helped revise for a large Hospital. As you read, note the number of times "pumped" is used in the description of the old system. “Water comes from springs located up in the foothills and travels in pipes to the hospital where it is stored in an underground storage tank. The water was then pumped to a second underground storage tank where it was then pumped up to an elevated storage tank. From the elevated storage tank the water gravity feeds the hospital compound and then travels down hill to a nursing school where the water was held in an underground storage tank. This water was then pumped to a second underground storage tank from where it was then pumped to another elevated storage tank.” For users at the very end the water was "pumped" FOUR times! The tragic part of this scenario is that the water would never need to be pumped even once if the water system had been properly laid out or installed in the first place! OPS was able to cut the number of times the water was pumped down to two because complete system replacement was not feasible. Are there ways that your water system can utilize gravity or modify operations to eliminate unnecessary pumping? For more info contact water pump dubai or call us +971 4 252 2966. The cost of the repairs to your well pump equipment depends on several key factors.
1) What heavy equipment is necessary for the repairs, such as a pump derrick or crane? If it is a shallow well, often the pump can be removed from the well by hand, but deeper wells will require the use of a pump rig to remove the submersible well pump from the well. The use of this equipment can add to the cost of well pump repairs. 2) Access to your well pump site is of critical importance! If your well is located in a muddy field or if fences or buildings block or cover access to the well, additional time and expense will be incurred. If you can ensure that the well pump equipment is easily accessible so the technician doesn’t need to spend time (and your money) removing furniture from your pump shed, or clearing small trees or branches to access the well site you save money! 3) The materials required for the repair such as a pump, motor, wire or pipe. Odds are that not all the components in the well failed at the same time. Often the pipe can be re-used, or the wire. Frequently the pump or motor just need to be replaced and the other components can be re-utilized. At water pump dubai, we will discuss the options that ensure optimal service life and that fit within your budget. 4) The amount of time required to troubleshoot, obtain components and effect the necessary repairs is a key factor in repair costs. While it isn’t possible for you to “speed up” a repair technician. The best way to reduce the cost of a service call or equipment replacement is for you to have as much information available when you call for a service technician. The more information you can provide, the faster it is to troubleshoot and bring the proper materials for repairs, reducing travel time and number of trips required to effect a repair. Describe the problem in detail with information on when the problem started, what you have done to correct the problem and if there was any recent occurrence that coincided with the problem such as a power outage, work on your water pipes or electrical system in your home. It is extremely helpful for homeowners to keep following information in their records: pump model, pump depth, size & type of pipe, size of wire, depth to water, well casing type and diameter, drillers report. It is also important to know where your circuit breakers are that supply power to your well pump equipment. This information is always important to have in a file folder marked “water system” and it is especially vital if you are calling a company that you have not done business with before. If you want to reduce the cost of ownership of your system, make sure you are putting quality materials in your well that have been appropriately selected for your application. A pump from your local hardware store that looks like a great deal, often looks less like a good deal when it fails in short order or uses twice as much electricity as the correctly sized submersible well pump. Using the wrong size wire or wrong type of well pump can result in increased energy consumption or shortened lifespan of the equipment. Properly selected and installed components will last longer and provide a much lower cost of ownership by reducing maintenance, energy use and hassle! Oakville Pump Service offers high quality, efficient pumps from Franklin Electric, Goulds and Grundfos. For more info contact water pump dubai or call us +971 4 252 2966. There are several very good reasons for a water storage tank:
1. Storage tanks provide a reserve of water that can be used during high demand periods when your well is not able to meet the instantaneous high demands. For example, your landscape irrigation requires 15 gallons per minute for an hour to water the main lawn, orchard or vineyard BUT the well only produces 10 gallons per minute. A storage tank is used as a buffer to be able to supply the additional demand for the hour or two per day that this additional demand is required. 2. County ordinances often require storage tanks in certain areas to ensure an adequate supply of water in the case of a fire. These ordinances come into play when property is being built on, remodeled, etc… In Napa County 2500 gallons of water is required to be dedicated to a fire hydrant on rural properties and an additional 800-1000 gallons is often required that is dedicated to the fire sprinkler system. 3. Storage tanks give a buffer capacity of water to offset times when your well pump needs servicing or replacement. If your well pump needs to be serviced or replaced, in many cases it means that there is no water available. If you have a storage tank, you can order a water delivery and still have water to use while your repairs are being made. Oakville Pump Service has 2 portable potable water trailers for our customers who run into this problem and don’t have a storage tank of their own. We like our customers to have water as soon as possible! 4. Storage tanks make some methods of water treatment (air stripping and circulation loop/ polishing filters) viable and/or more cost effective. Filter systems can be very expensive, especially if they are large filtration systems capable of removing high levels of contamination from large volumes of water. If a storage tank is used, water can be filtered more slowly during the night through a relatively small filter system and the clean water can then be stored and ready to be used whenever needed. 5. If you have property with sufficient hillside/elevation, a storage tank located up on a hill is the ideal solution to a very simple water system. This type of system can be filled with a well/spring and use gravity to supply your water needs. This is the most reliable type of system for several reasons: First, gravity never fails! If there is water in the tank, you will have pressure at the house. Second, this type of system has the fewest number of components to go wrong! Pressure switches, pressure tanks, air volume controls, & their inevitable need for replacement evaporate with this type of system because they are un-necessary. If you have a well pump directly supplying water to your house then you know that the water stops when the power stops! This brings us to the third reason that these types of systems are the most reliable. Water stored in a tank on a hill is available to be used whether the electricity is on or off. An additional benefit to this type of system is that is likley the most energy efficient/green system available since the water is pumped once (if at all), pumped very efficiently (if sized properly) with very few components and no need for fancy pump controllers.
