A centrifugal pump is made up of several components, including a shaft and impeller that creates the force necessary to pump water. There’s also a mechanical seal installed directly behind its impeller to help prevent water from seeping into the machine components. However, sometimes, these shafts can crack or become damaged forcing the need for replacement. That’s why water pump suppliers in uae has gathered some pump repair tips for you here.

To replace your centrifugal pump’s mechanical seal, you’ll need a PVC saw, a wrench, a new mechanical seal, and some PVC glue and primer. Let’s get started.

Step 1: Turn off your pump and power supply, then cut the plumbing connected to the pump with the PVC saw. Remove the pump and place it in a work area with ample room.

Step 2: Next, unscrew the bolts of the pump and its housing with your wrench, then remove the motor from the wet end of the pump

Step 3: Hold your wrench over the motor shaft tightly, rotating the impeller clockwise, then remove the seal from the back of the impeller and slide it off the shaft.

Step 4: Slide the new seal onto the shaft, taking special care not to touch the front of it with your fingers; body oil can damage mechanical seals.

Step 5: Hold your wrench firmly on the shaft to keep it from moving and screw the impeller back onto the pump’s motor shaft. Line up the motor with the wet end of the pump and screw it back together.

Step 6: Re-install your centrifugal pump and connect it to the plumbing with the PVC glue and primer. Be sure to let the pump sit for a day before turning it back on again, to ensure the seal is firmly in place.

Electrical control panels can be designed to perform a variety of functions, everything from equipment monitoring to managing your entire electrical system. The components one will have often depends upon what uses they’ve been designed for. However, there are often a few key parts that every electrical control panel has, which is why water pump suppliers in uae has collected a list for you below.

Here you’ll find some of the most common components of today’s modern electrical control panel.

Communication Interfaces

One of the primary components that all electrical control panels will have is a type of controller that allows operators to interact with the panel, control its functions and send commands. Such commands are often transferred to the panel via components like a human machine interface (HMI) designed to provide operators with a visual interface of how different components in the panel are functioning.

Motor Control Oversight

Most electrical control panels are designed to provide motor control solutions, which is why they’re often equipped with drives and contactors to monitor motor functions. The most common of these drives is a variable frequency drive that provides parameters for the motor’s operation and gives you control over its speed.

Power Supply & Protection

Another important component of an electrical control panel is its power supply and protection parts. These components ensure that firstly, there is enough power to run the control panel and that the proper safety mechanisms are in place. Often the power supply mechanisms will be designed to convert the alternating current voltage to direct current voltage, which is thought to be safer and more stable. They’ll also be equipped with circuit protection to protect all your electrical control panel’s important components.

Let water pump suppliers in uae build your ideal custom panel!

Sewage Pump Characteristics

sewage pumps are able to handle some solids-handling capability, but only to a certain extent. This type of pump is commonly used with basement toilets to pump the sewage up into the sewer lines for the home or utility with the solids still intact, or if a home is located in a low area and sewage must be pumped uphill into the sewer or septic system.
Some sewage pumps are grinder pumps, but not all. Grinder pumps are a subtype of sewage pumps. Generally speaking, sewage pumps that are not grinder pumps can move sewage solids up to two inches in diameter that are easy to break down or dissolve. Harder material will cause clogs and significant wear and tear on the pump. However, a general sewage pump that is not a grinder pump is usually less expensive and draws less power. This also means that the pump is not able to move sewage to as high of a point as a grinder pump can.

Grinder Pump Characteristics

Grinder pumps are always sewage pumps, which is one of the reasons they are confused. Grinder pumps include a cutting mechanism that can chop the harder solids into smaller pieces, creating a slurry that can more easily pass through pipes.

Because the slurry is relatively fine, it can be pumped to a higher elevation than general sewage pumps. For this reason, grinder pumps tend to use more power and are more expensive. For this reason, they are more commonly used in institutional and commercial applications. Though they can handle harder solids, they can still break down, so it's important to only flush items that belong in a toilet in the first place. In many situations, depending on the specific pump's configuration, multiple restroom facilities or homes can be connected to a single grinder pump, spreading the overall expense of the pump across the group and lowering the expense for each individual connection.
There are two different types of grinder pumps, a semi-positive displacement or SPC, and centrifugal. Many come with a storage tank and alert system so that if the level of waste rises beyond a particular point because the grinder pump has malfunctioned, an alert or alarm will go off so that action may be taken to correct the situation. The effluent level is determined either by sensors or floats, though in systems that incorporate floats, grease buildup can cause the pumps to run unnecessarily.

By understanding the basic differences between grinder pumps and sewage pumps, you will know better what to look for in your specific situation. If you need help finding the right solution for your wastewater needs, the experienced professionals at pump suppliers in uae are ready to help. Submersible pump is a mechanical device that can serve multiple purposes and is one of the most extensively used automatic devices. The sump pumps are available from the market in different categories depending upon types of waste water you want pass through the motor, categories like the submersible pump, sewage pump etc.

A submersible pump, also called an electric submersible pump or sub pump, is a pump that can be fully submerged in water. The motor is hermetically sealed and close-coupled to the body of the pump.

The main advantage of this type of pump is that it prevents pump cavitation, a problem associated with a high elevation difference between pump and the fluid surface. Submersible pumps push fluid to the surface as opposed to jet pumps having to pull fluids. Submersibles are more efficient than jet pumps because they don’t really have to spend a lot of energy moving water into the pump; water pressure pushes the water into a submersible pump, thus “saving” a lot of the pump’s energy.

Submersible pumps are used in many applications. Single stage pumps are used for drainage, sewage pumping, general industrial pumping and slurry pumping. They are also popular with pond filters. Multiple stage submersible pumps are typically lowered down a borehole and most typically used for residential, commercial, municipal and industrial water extraction, water wells and in oil wells.

Other uses for submersible pumps include sewage treatment plants, seawater handling, water well and deep well drilling, offshore drilling rigs, artificial lifts, mine dewatering, and irrigation systems and much more.

A submersible pump pushes water to the surface by converting rotary energy into kinetic energy and further convert to pressure energy. This is done by the water being pulled into the pump as an intake, where the rotation of the impeller pushes the water through the diffuser and from there, it goes to the surface.

Also, while the pumps themselves aren’t versatile, the selection certainly is. Some submersible pumps can easily handle solids, while some are better for liquids only. Submersible pumps are quiet, because they are under water, and cavitation is never an issue, because there is no “spike” in pressure as the water flows through the pump.

There are a few disadvantages with submersible pumps, and two of them being with the seals as they corrode with time. When that happens, water seeps into the motor, rendering it useless until it is repaired. Also, that seal makes the submersible pump a bit difficult to get into for repairs.

The other main disadvantage is that one pump does not fit all uses. Single stage pumps are used for most home and light industrial pumping. This includes aquarium filters, sewage pumping, or sump pumps for drainage. Multiple stage pumps are used for anything underground, such as water wells or oil wells. Also, pumps are made to work with thin liquids like water, or thick ones like sewage.

Caution must be used with submersible pumps; they must be fully submerged. The water around a submersible pump actually helps to cool the motor. If it is used out of water, it can overheat.
